How to evaluate PEOs like a broker
Nine videos on how a broker actually looks at a PEO: what's inside the invoice, how to compare providers on your own employees, and when the answer is to leave. Watch in order or jump to the provider you're evaluating.
The method in four steps
Separate the costs
Admin fee, premium, taxes and workers' comp, each on its own line.
Price the same coverage outside
For your actual employees, not a sample.
Compare all-in, both ways
Per employee per month, inside and outside the PEO.
Then weigh service and control
Once the math is even, decide on what you want to own.
Common questions
Which PEO is best for a small business?
It depends on your states, headcount, benefits needs and how much control you want. The series walks through how each major model works so you can compare them on your own employees.
Do brokers recommend PEOs?
Independent brokers do when the math supports it. Be careful with any evaluation from someone who can only be paid on one side of the answer.
Are the videos still current?
Provider pricing and features change. Each video carries its recording date, and the written pages are reviewed and dated. Where they conflict, the written page is newer.
